Author's Laugh

That Rouge Author's (I won't give a name) really peeved at me for revising this fic, and to think, during our fight he said he didn't care about the fic anymore and moved on from it, (Yet he's going all postal and whining like a baby worse than I ever did) Yeah, he's a sad hypocrite (And he only digs himself deeper the way he continues to be obnoxious and rude)

Oh, well... it's his problem (He wants be a jerk to people for no good reason) not mine. Like I said: "It's what you get for being rude and hostile."

CHAPTER SIX

Once back at the base, Davis, Gray and their Digimon each had a recharge, and then everyone sat down to a well-deserved lunch.

The food-synthesisers we’re able to prepare just about any food and in any way they requested.

Normally, Davis would be going crazy over all the wonderful grub he could eat, but he seemed a little down and regretful.

“You’re still thinking about that girl?” Gray asked.

“Is it that obvious?” Davis said looking up. He couldn’t stop feeling a little guilty of the way he just acted and told Kari to bug off, but then again he knew it had to be done. She wasn’t his friend anymore, and made it as clear as he could that he wanted nothing do with her or the others.

Even Veemon was feeling down in the chops, having just fought against his former fellow-digimon. “I can’t believe I’m shaying thish, but I think I’m about ready to cut all ties with them after what jusht happened.”

“You both have been through a lot…” Shatora said as she sat down next to Davis-- just a few inches away from him really. “Believe me, I know of the trouble you’ve been through.”

Davis knew he could trust Shatora, despite she just popped up from out of nowhere, she was a genuine, hundred percent, human being from the real world. She even confessed herself that she was originally from Tokyo.

Shatora Mitsarugi was orphaned at age eight when her parents died in a car accident, and she lived in an orphanage, studying electronics by mail, until she was able to get a job as a Computer I.T and programmer.

“When I was teenager the Digital World appeared in the sky, I was so fascinated by it, as well as the battle with Venom-Myotismon that just occurred that I longed to venture forth and see it for myself. But of course, not being a chosen Digi-Destined I couldn’t go.

Nevertheless, I continued to researching into it. for years I studied, until the new Digital-Ports were formed, and I actually managed to hack my way through using various programs, but just as I was about to enter, something crashed right through my gateway.”

Wolcramon stepped forth “That something was me, back when I was a mere Zeemon.”

“A Zeemon?” asked Veemon.

Wolcramon nodded, “The Digital World had suffered much damage the Dark Masters had left behind, and while many had decided to quell their fighting ways, many more remained unchanged, unmoved, and unnerved by it all. Continuing to be ruthless, fighting the weak and helpless, and desolating the lands.

In the process, I was injured, and I required help. It was then that fate had lead me to Shatora, and she nursed me back to health.”

Wolcramon walked up to Shatora, resting her head cuddling on her leg as she softly stroked her head. “I’ll never forget that day.” said Shatora.

“My life had changed forever. I had a new little friend; a Digimon. Naturally, I asked her questions about the Digital World and what it was like. As interesting as it all sounded, I was horrified to hear of all the bad things that had happened over the years. The way creatures preyed on one another, and unscrupulous beings threatened to take over the place and enslave every Digimon.

In many ways, The Digital World was just like our world; a place where Dog-Ate-Dog, and only the strong survived, while the weak lived miserably and cowered in fear of those who surpassed them.”

Shatora was not trying to cook up any wild story. She meant every word, and how it all broke her up inside, reminding her of the cruel fate that took her parents from her, and whole other world was suffered from equal to worse consequences.

Davis began to realize just how brave and strong-willed she was, much like he was in many ways. “That’s why you decided to start the Phoenix Program?”

Shatora nodded, “I knew that things would only get worse, not better, if someone didn’t act properly. So I vowed from then on, I would find a way to help The Digital World; protect it and the innocent from wicked and unworthy beings.”

“I vowed to help her.” said Wolcramon “After all I had been through; nothing would have pleased me more than to ensure the safety of my home world.”

Shatora then held up her Digi-Vice, which was just like Tai’s, showing that she and Wolcramon became partners from then on, and Shatora finally got to see The Digital World.

“For the past few years, I and my colleague created special computer programs to set up base and engage the Phoenix Program; setting up all its technologies and weapons, and programing the firewalls to block unworthy people out.

Wolcramon and I even trained to help her become stronger, and to prepare myself for the hardships that lay ahead.

However, the day we were to initiate the project, and test the power-suits, something went horribly wrong.

My colleague had not shown up in days, but ran me a message telling me to begin the program without him. So I proceeded, but as Wolcramon and I initiated the project, there was a powerful digital surge, which was caused by the Digimon Emperor’s control-spires unleashing the dark energy that interfaced. I tried to shut down the systems, but the next thing I knew…

…A mysterious portal had appeared inside the base, and sucked both me and Wolcramon inside.”

The others were all astonished and horrified to hear of this.

“Where was it that you went?” asked Soarmon.

“We don’t know…” replied Wolcramon. “We had found ourselves trapped in an unusual way. Somehow, we had been digitized, and were now part of the actual wave lengths that held the Digital World stable.”

Shatora nodded “However, we could not be seen nor heard or felt by anyone or anything. I couldn’t even make contact with the real world to warn my colleague of what happened. It was as if we were ghosts trapped in limbo. On top of that, my body had stopped aging. I never grew any older. I never got tired or hungry… just exist as I was with Wolcramon.

We wandered for four long years, desperate to figure a way out of our predicament, while at the same time watching over you, Davis, you and your friends.”

Davis blinked once “You mean you’ve been watching me and the others all this time, and we never noticed?”

The ladies nodded. Shatora then gazed deeply into Davis’ eyes, and he gazed back at her. They were practically lost in one-another.

Veemon felt the same with Wolcramon.

“Ahem…!” Gray said snapped them all back into reality “So, how were able to communicate with us?”

Shatora explained, “Do you remember when Yukio Owikawa passed away, and merged himself into the Digital World?”

Davis and Veemon both felt down remembering that tragic day. “What’s he got to do with it?” asked Davis.

“He kept to his word…” replied Wolcramon “He, too, wished that the Digital World be safe from harm and unworthy ones, and his new force in the Digital world slowly helped to strengthen the wavelengths and codes of the Digital World, which also affected Shatora and myself.”

Shatora nodded, “We learned how to tap into the Digital World’s wavelengths, and managed to contact the real world, and eventually we discovered that the only sure-fire thing that would release us from our prison would be for our firewalls activate. Only then, once enough power had been harnessed would the seal that sent us here before, would open once again and allow us to be free.

I had finally managed to contact my colleague, by sending him an actual email from the Digital World, telling him we were alright, and that the Phoenix program needed to be imitated, but we would need other members.”

“I remember…” Gray said “I was contacted by an anonymous email, but it wasn’t by you. It must’ve been from your right-hand guy, and that’s how Soramon and I ended up here in the program.”

Shatora nodded “I only wanted the best on my team; those who were truthful, trustworthy, understanding.” she turned to look at Davis “I had been watching you a long time Davis. I could see that you were very different among your friends…

Your courage in the face of outstanding odds couldn’t be denied. Your determination was equal only that of very few, and when I saw how horrible you were treated by your friends, I knew perhaps I could persuade you to join our cause.”

Davis didn’t know whether to feel flattered, neutral or much anything about it. “Well, your timing couldn’t have been better.” he said in a low tone. Naturually he was referring to the fallout he had with the Digi-Destined. It was as if he was finally and fully accepting there was no hope of reconciling with them.

Veemon pretty much felt the same way, until Wolcramon came over to him and placed her paw on his head, stroking him softly. “We understand if it is hard for you both, and we shall not hold it against you.”

Veemon smiled sadly, gazing deeply into her eyes again.

“Well…” Gray said “What should we do now then?”

“We will continue to seal the Digital World with firewalls.” replied Shatora “We have blocked all of Japan, but there are many countries left. We must do what we can to seal them all away.”

The team thought this was going to be a rather tedious task, for just the three of them and their Digimon anyway. “If only we had more members, our task would be made easier.” said Soramon.

Everyone turned to gaze in the compartment where the remaining seven power-suits remained.

“Well, I keep shaying…” said Veemon “Maybe if we told everyone about our cause, they’d be willing to join.”

“You may be right, Veemon.” said Shatora “But remember, we only seek those who are truly worthy, and after all that I’ve been through I can who is just that.”

“Besides, it’s not they’d agree with us anyway.” added Davis “You saw how the others behaved. They want us to disable the firewalls, and I doubt they’d change their minds even if we told them.”

Everyone seemed to agree with that, “Well then,” Shatora said as she got up and took one of the power suits off the rack for herself “I propose we get started right away. I’ll even contact my colleague and see if he can join us.”

“Oh, that’s right, I nearly forgot about him.” said Gray “It’s been a while since we saw him.”

“Who is he anyway?” Davis asked.

“I’ll explain more when we meet up with him.” said Shatora. “Meanwhile, we have a job to do.”

Everyone agreed, and prepared to power up, once Shatora had donned her white spandex suit. Then the charging stations were ready and the three humans stood together in each pod. Davis and Shatora’s hands touched.

They both blushed softly but got a hold of themselves. “You have the call, Davis.” said Shatora. Davis nodded, and saw everyone was ready. “Power on!”

The power surge activated, and Shatora clenched her teeth as the painful waves energized around her-- being her first time it was painful, which she knew since she designed the suits—in the end everyone donned their armor.

Shatora’s armor was silver with gold shoulder pads and side platings to show she was the leader, and instead of a helmet, she had a thick translucent visor over her eyes, like sunglasses.

Davis thought she looked incredibly hot in her suit, which she noted, “You like what you see?” she teased.

Davis turned away trying to hide his red cheeks, but all the others thought it was cute.

Now that they were all charged up, they made plans to split up and start activating more firewalls, which Shatora had mapped for them. “We’ll rendezvous here in the middle, in the canyon, by sundown.”

“Do you really think it’s a good idea for us to split up?” Davis asked “Maybe we should all stick together in case the others try to stop us.”

Shatora assured him and the others “There is nothing they can do to stop us, and even still, this way we can cover more ground and be finished quicker, but if you run into serious danger you all know what to do.”

Everyone nodded in acknowledgment.

“Okay! Let’s move out!”

Davis then held out his D3, “Go, Veemon!”

“Veemon, Digivole too…

…EX-VEEMON!!”

With that settled, the team headed to the roof and outside on the mountain face before taking off together on their Digimon.

Once they had flown out of sight from the mountain range they all split up, and Shatora couldn’t stop staring at Davis until he was out of sight. “Are you alright, Shatora?” asked Wolcramon.

“Huh? Oh, yeah, I’m fine.”

Wolcramon knew how she really felt; she herself seemed to feel the same way… towards Ex-Veemon, but now was not the time to think of that. It was time they finished what they started years ago.

What no one realized was that shadowy figure had been watching them since they left the base. “They’re gone. It’s time to begin the next phase.” he hissed softly, and he crept towards the mountains where the base was located.

Along the way there, he was confronted by another figure hidden in the shadows. He spoke in a machine voice, “Master, are you certain this is the correct way to do things?”

“Don’t question me.” the human said “Remember, I programed you myself, and I can make things happen. No, wait… strike that. I WILL… make things happen.”

With the base just up ahead, he and his partner walked along.

Meanwhile, Joe and Mimi had finally arrived, having taken a Digi-Port from America that was still open. Mimi even brought special energy-boosting drinks for all the Digimon to help them regain their strengths so they could Digivolve again.

You can bet, they were nothing less than horrified when they were told what Davis and his team had been doing. This was confirmed by the fact that the Japanese portal was still inaccessible. “I can’t believe Davis would do such a thing.” said Mimi “He used to be so caring and understanding.”

“What about this girl, Shatora?” Joe asked.

None of the others were sure what to think of Shatora. Izzy had scanned her when she first appeared, and she was indeed a genuine human being, but that was about all he could scan. He couldn’t scan Wolcramon or any background information about the two.

“Look, it’s all simple…” Tai said getting everyone’s attention “We all don’t like it-- I don’t like it myself--, but the fact is Davis isn’t on our side anymore. He’s being manipulated by that Shatora girl.”

“I get what you’re saying, Tai.” said Matt “We find him and we make him tell us what this is all about, and if he won’t come willingly, then we take him by force… even if it means…!” he didn’t bother finishing the sentence, and he didn’t have to, everyone agreed on the possibility of having to fight Davis again, no matter how they hoped it wouldn’t come to.

“But even if we do have to fight…” said Agumon “In case you forgotten; that Wolcramon and Soarmon, they stomped on us all like we were bugs. Even Ex-Veemon was tougher than ever.”

“And don’t forget Davis and those guys he was with.” added Gabbumon, he reminded everyone of the weapons and armor.

Everyone agreed that would be a huge problem, even Izzy was unable to scan the actual power levels and secrets of the armor, “Whatever that stuff is, it’s made from a kind of programing I’ve never seen before. It’s way beyond anything I’ve ever dreamed of!”

While everyone talked about it, Kari remained by herself, sitting behind a large rock, and she had been crying softly to herself so much, her eyes were red. She felt rather thirsty too, until her birther came over and handed her an ordinary soda. She took it, but was hardly able to bring it to her lips.

Tai figured she was upset because of the horrid things Davis had said to her. “Kari, if it makes you feel any better, I don’t think he had any right to say all that to you.”

His sister only looked ready to cry again. “No, Tai…” he sobbed softly “I deserved that.”

Her brother felt confused, and so she brought up when she had her fight with Davis and she told him everything, including what she had said to him; “You weren’t even worth the time of day!” the very thing he had said to her.

Tai felt his blood turning cold and his brain aching with shock, “You said THAT to him?” Now it all made more sense than ever. “No wonder he stormed off!” but he said that to himself.

Kari nodded with such sad guilt, and began crying hysterically, “It’s my fault, Tai! It’s all my fault!!”

Despite what he had just learned, Tai held his sister close letting her cry, like how he used to do when she was scared or upset. “I drove him away!” she sobbed “I’m the reason why he’s being hostile! I did it all!”

“Shhhh, easy now…” he said comforting her “Look, I can understand why he’s mad at you; for saying those things to him, but that still doesn’t give him the right to shut the Digital World and lock us out.”

“But what can I do?” asked Kari, “You saw how he acted; he won’t accept my apology and he said he won’t take the firewalls down.”

Tai honestly wasn’t sure of what to say now, especially now that he understood why Davis was so upset. “Look, we’ll do whatever we can, okay? We’ll find him, and you can go right up to him and apologize with all you have. We’ll be right there with you.”

Kari felt a little better and smiled softly, “Thanks Tai.”

The siblings shared a small hug, but Kari still felt nervous inside.

Gatomon came up to them, “Has anyone seen Patamon?”

“And where’s TK?” asked Matt. Everyone looked around but TK and Patamon were nowhere to be seen, as if they had just run off.

“I’ve got him on my radar.” said Izzy “He’s heading south.”

There was only one explanation: TK made Patamon Armor Digivolve into Pegaususmon, and headed off while no one was looking. “But where is he going?” asked Sora.

“I don’t know, but he looked awfully mad the last time I saw him.” said Biyomon.

“Mad is a light way of putting It.” said Tentomon “He looked as if he was ready for a dog-fight.”

All at once everyone’s bloods froze. “He’s gone to find Davis himself!” cried Kari.

Everyone knew TK well, and Cody began to fear, “You don’t think he’ll…?”

“He might, and he will.” said Ken.

“But how will he find him?” asked Yolei “I mean Davis could be anywhere.”

Izzy checked his computer, and he realized that more blips, indicating Digi-Ports, were vanishing from the map. Faster than ever, and TK was heading straight for one of the nearest areas where a blip had just gone out.

“Those are American portals!” cried Mimi “If Davis seals them off, I won’t be able to get home!”

“Well, let’s shake a leg!” cried Lilymon.

Tai and the others gazed at their Digimon, and Augumon nodded at them. “We’re all rested up. We’re ready.”

“Okay, let’s go!” said Tai, and everyone’s Digimon Digivolved to their strongest forms, except for Gomamon, since he could neither fly nor run superfast. He and Joe rode with Izzy on Mega-Kabuterimon.

“I hope we’re not too late.” cried Joe.

Kari, panicking, sent several emails to TK’s D-Terminal at once telling him “Don’t Do It!!”

TK, however, was already so far ahead, and had his D-Terminal turned off so he couldn’t know he was sent a message. Not that he would have noticed anyway.

“How dare he…!” he kept growling to himself. It was totally livid with the horrid things Davis had said to Kari, and making her upset like that. Now his patience had totally run out and his anger was fully spiked. “I’m going to find you, Davis, and when I do, I’m going to get even with you, for hurting Kari, hurting those Digimon, sealing off the Digital World and putting us through all this trouble…!”

“TK, look!” cried Pegasusmon motioning at the beam of light shining way up ahead. “I think one of those firewalls have been activated again.”

TK wasn’t sure if it was Davis or not, but he was so ticked right now that he just didn’t care! “Let’s go!” he said harshly.
